Gorbachev. Red, Red, Red

Red, Red, Red is a children's book by Valeri Gorbachev, with art by the author, published in 2007. It is available at the Internet Archive.

Here is a YouTube read-along:

I really enjoyed Gorbachev's Where is the Apple Pie?, so I was excited to read another of his books. Turtle tells Mrs. Raccoon that he's going to see something "red, red, red," but it's not her roses, so she goes along with Turtle. It's not any of the red foots at Rabbit's grocery store, so he joins them (it's told cumulatively). It's not Goat's socks, so he joins them. It's not the red roof of Fox's house, so she joins them. It's not the Beavers' red firetruck (remember the beaver firefighters from the other book?!). It's not the red life-preservers on Dog's ship. They finally all reach the top of the hill: they can see the red, red, red sunset. And it's beautiful!

This is a great example of a cumulative tale (gathering of companions) where there really is not much plot to the story but, at the same time, it has a very nice sense of ending!
