WardThere Was an Odd Princess

There Was an Odd Princess Who Swallowed a Pea is a children's book by Jennifer Ward, with art Lee Calderon, published in 2011. It is available at the Internet Archive. (Five of Ward's "swallowed" books are available at the Archive also!)

Here is a YouTube read-along:

In the previous "swallowing" book by Ward I wrote about, There Was an Old Martian Who Swallowed the Moon, the author interwove some bits of a nursery rhyme into the story; as you can tell from the title of this one, it is inspired by a fairy tales, starting with Hans Christian Andersen's Princess and the Pea. Then Cinderella, because she swallows a glass slipper next. That's followed by a crown, and then a rose (Beauty and the Beast?), then a wand, then a witch (Snow White?), and a prince too of course, and a queen, and then a moat, then the castle... but then she burped with laughter and (wait for it........), she lived happily ever after.

I can definitely some more fairy-tale inspired "swallowing" stories like this!
